Breathtaking Magic guard Victor Oladipo records his first triple-double

Oladipo is a budding superstar on the hardwood.

Breathtaking Magic guard Victor Oladipo dominated in Orlando’s 126-125 double-overtime loss to the Sixers on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

The 21-year-old Oladipo, who made his first start as a professional roughly two weeks ago, finished with 26 points, 10 boards, 10 assists and three steals in 52 minutes.

Oladipo, who was taken second overall out of Indiana by Orlando in June, has averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 dishes and 1.9 picks since getting promoted.

Despite lacking a consistent jumper, the former Hoosier continues to aggressively drive to the basket and is maturing into a reliable scorer.

There’s no question that Oladipo remains an extremely raw talent who causes far too many boneheaded miscues.

Regardless, the Maryland native is also a defensive virtuoso who creates turnovers and flourishes in transition.

Hence, Oladipo will always find ways to contribute and produce on the hardwood.

A first-team AP All-American, Oladipo’s an aerial artist famed for diligence and preparation.

Sitting in the basement of the Eastern Conference Southeast Division, Orlando is again a primarily hideous squad.

However, Oladipo’s lockdown skills, energy, and passion for the sport will eventually allow the Magic to spellbind onlookers.

Accordingly, expect Victor Oladipo to earn the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year Award this spring in “The City Beautiful.”
