Hall of Famer Troy Aikman is worried about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo

Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman expressed concern Thursday over Tony Romo’s back woes. The 34-year-old Romo suffered a herniated disk in Dallas’ 24-23 comeback victory over the Washington Redskins on December 22 and was forced to have surgery later that week. Romo, who agreed to a six-year contract extension worth $108 million in March 2013, also underwent the knife to have a non-cancerous cyst removed from his back shortly before last spring’s draft. Without Romo under center, the Cowboys lost 24-22 versus Philadelphia, finished 8-8, and again failed to advance to the playoffs. The former ravager of Jessica Simpson and … Continue reading

Joe Lombardi will determine if Golden Tate roars as a Detroit Lion

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate is reportedly excited to work with new OC Joe Lombardi this autumn. The 25-year-old Tate, who penned a five-year deal worth $31 million to become a Lion in March, expects to be used by Lombardi like Lance Moore was with the Saints. Since being taken out of Notre Dame with the 60th pick in the 2010 draft, Tate has caught 165 balls for 2,195 yards and 15 touchdowns over 58 games as a Seahawk. Although a poor route runner with slippery hands, Tate is extremely athletic and strong and his heart and competitiveness can’t … Continue reading

Marty Mornhinweg could make Chris Johnson a ‘productive’ Jet

According to the New York Daily News, running back Chris Johnson and Gang Green enjoyed a “productive” meeting this afternoon. The 28-year-old Johnson, a three-time Pro Bowler who earned the 2009 rushing crown, was clipped by the Tennessee Titans on April 4. Since getting drafted 24th overall out of East Carolina in 2008, the 5-foot-11, 203-pound Johnson has only missed one game and amassed 7,965 yards and 50 touchdowns on the gridiron. Johnson, who completed the 40-yard dash in 4.24 seconds, also caught 272 balls for 2,003 yards and eight scores over 95 contests as a Titan. New York owns … Continue reading

The New York Giants are worried about Eli Manning

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the New York Giants are worried that erratic quarterback Eli Manning is declining under center. New York could have extended the 33-year-old Manning’s contract this offseason and gained significant cap relief. However, general manager Jerry Reese wasn’t willing to renegotiate with Manning. The 6-foot-4, 218-pound Manning tossed 18 touchdowns, against 27 interceptions, for 3,818 yards in 2013. Even more worrisome, the two-time Super Bowl MVP completed an atrocious 57.5 percent of his 551 attempts. Since getting drafted first overall out of Mississippi in 2004, Manning’s thrown 229 scores, in comparison to 171 picks, for 35,345 … Continue reading

New England Patriots chandelier Rob Gronkowski will soon be out of the NFL

Following Friday’s visit with Dr. James Andrews, it was announced that fragile New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski will be able to begin running soon. The 24-year-old Gronkowski, who penned a six-year extension worth $54 million in June 2012, suffered a concussion, and a torn right ACL and MCL on December 8 versus Cleveland. Gronkowski, who also required back surgery last June to alleviate pain caused by a degenerative disc disease and didn’t debut until October against the Jets in the swamps of Jersey, underwent the knife on January 9. Prior to getting injured, the 6-foot-6, 265 pound Neanderthal caught 39 … Continue reading
