Contradicting trade rumors, Nerlens Noel seems set to be taken first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers

Nerlens Noel and Kyrie Irving could sparkle as a tandem.

Contradicting recent reports, former Kentucky Wildcats center Nerlens Noel has been invited into the “green room” and is expected to be chosen first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.

After suffering a torn ACL in his left knee in February, the 19-year-old Noel underwent the knife to repair the damage on March 12.

Despite earning rave updates from Dr. James Andrews, Cleveland must be somewhat hesitant to take the 6-foot-11, 206 pound Noel.

Still, dismissing the plights of past busts Sam Bowie and Greg Oden, Andrews’ reassuring words should provide the Cavs with some measure of confidence.

Although removed from a hideous 24-58 campaign, Cleveland is an organization on the brink of rocking.

Already employing Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson, Cavaliers general manager Chris Grant is near assembling a quartet of lottery talent.

Quick, fast, athletic and an amazing leaper and finisher around the rim, Noel could be just the dominant force in the paint that Cleveland needs.

A First team All-SEC selection, Nerlens Noel has the potential to mature into one of the league’s premier big men within a few seasons.

Once healed and able to gain needed bulk, Nerlens Noel will flourish with the upstart Cavaliers in Cleveland.
