Dazzling in ‘The City Beautiful,’ expect Magic guard Victor Oladipo to win the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year Award

Victor Oladipo will mature into Magic in Orlando.

Rebounding from a poor performance on Monday, Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo flourished in a summer-league game yesterday.

Taken second overall out of Indiana by Orlando last month, the 21-year-old Oladipo scored 22 points on 4-of-7 attempts from the floor.

An aerial artist famed for diligence and preparation, the 6-foot-5, 215 pound Oladipo has long been criticized for lacking an effective jumper.

Therefore, the first-team AP All-American’s shooting was particularly impressive on Tuesday.

Averaging 13.6 points, 6.3 boards and 2.1 assists over 36 contests as a junior during the 2012-2013 campaign, Oladipo is an extremely raw talent.

However, a defensive virtuoso who will create turnovers and benefit in transition, the Maryland native always finds ways to produce on the hardwood.

Removed from a 20-62 season in the Eastern Conference Southeast Division, Orlando is a primarily hideous squad.

However, Oladipo’s energy and passion for the sport will eventually make the Magic sparkle.

A frontrunner to win the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year Award, expect Victor Oladipo to dazzle as a Magic in “The City Beautiful.”
