In their initial bout in February 2012, the 27-year-old Chavez (46-1-1-1, 32 KOs) earned a unanimous decision triumph over the 33-year-old Rubio (57-6-1, 49 KOs).
Chavez last exited the squared circle in September as a unanimous decision loser to The Ring and WBC Diamond middleweight king Sergio Martinez.
Conversely, Rubio most recently outscored Marcus Upshaw in March.
Although the rugged Mexican hasn’t cemented a future bout, Rubio will fight at some point within the coming months.
Provided Chavez Jr. and Rubio defeat their respective opponents, the two prizefighters should clash in the early wintertime.
Despite possessing a diligence comparable to Jeffrey Lebowki’s, Chavez should again overcome Rubio when they meet.
After outmaneuvering Rubio, expect Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to get battered by the great Andre Ward next spring.by
