Former Hoosier Cody Zeller should have never left Bloomington for Charlotte

Zeller is an unfulfilled Hoosier.

Gangly power forward Cody Zeller scored a career-high 10 points in the Bobcats’ 105-88 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Charlotte on Friday.

The 21-year-old Zeller, who was taken fourth overall out of Indiana, has badly disappointed as a rookie.

A former Hoosiers center, the 7-foot, 240 pound Zeller is only averaging 5.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists over 20 games.

Zeller was exposed when Syracuse battered Indiana in March and he shouldn’t have prematurely bolted Bloomington.

An All-Big Ten First Team choice, Zeller currently lacks the physicality to compete with rugged opponents.

Without a diploma, and coming from an affluent family, Zeller should have purchased insurance and resurfaced at Assembly Hall this autumn.

Zeller could have led Indiana to their first title since 1987 and jockeyed to become the top pick in June’s draft.

Although an impressive leaper, Cody Zeller’s unprepared to consistently perform against NBA defenders.

Accordingly, “The Big Handsome” will continue to look homely on the professional hardwood throughout the winter months.
