In ‘the biggest British fight of the last decade,’ Carl Froch will beat Mikkel Kessler

Mikkel Kessler will fall to Carl Froch in their May rematch.

In “the biggest British fight of the last decade,” WBA regular super middleweight champion “The Viking Warrior” Mikkel Kessler will battle IBF super middleweight titlist “The Cobra” Carl Froch in a May 25 rematch at the O2 Arena in North Greenwich, London.

Kessler (46-2, 35 KOs) managed to trump the 35-year-old Froch (30-2, 22 KO) by a unanimous decision in their initial April 2010 bout during the Super Six World Boxing Classic.

Despite being overcome by the tough Dane, Froch, a Nottingham native, claims “Kessler hasn’t got much of a chance.”

Froch, also a former two-time WBC super-middleweight king, most recently fought in November when he knocked American Yusaf Mack onto Queer Street in the third round.

Comparatively, Kessler, a five-time world titleholder who has been plagued by injuries since defeating “The Cobra,” last threw fists in December and earned a third round TKO over Irishman Brian Magee.

Kessler and Froch engaged in the tournament’s most exciting tussle three years ago and the two are poised for another brilliant clash this spring.

However, in the sequel, Carl Froch will atone for one of his professional “blemishes” and outdo Mikkel Kessler to collect another belt.
