Lenny Dykstra is the personification of a loser.

ESPN.com reported earlier today that disgraced former New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Lenny Dykstra was sentenced on Wednesday in a Los Angeles courtroom to nine-months behind bars and three years’ probation for assault with a deadly weapon and lewd conduct.

The 49-year-old Dykstra, who made his professional debut with the Mets in 1985 and retired as a shopworn juicehead with the Phillies in 1996, was convicted of exposing himself to women he met on Craigslist and forcing one lady to give him a Lewinsky while he held a knife to her throat.

The three-time All-Star selection and 1993 Silver Slugger Award winner pleaded no contest to grand theft in March and he is currently awaiting trial on federal bankruptcy charges.

Dykstra, who filed for Chapter 11 in July 2009 after reportedly having a net worth of $58 million in 2008, has been named in more than two dozen lawsuits since 2007.

The stock-picking guru of yesteryear could be removed from the streets for 80 years if found guilty of all the various crimes he has been charged with.

Dykstra is a deplorable man and the courts cannot be harsh enough when determining his fate.

When society finally rids itself of the thuggish Lenny Dykstra, the world will immediately become a more wholesome place.
