Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden needs to prove he’s not a human chandelier

Darren McFadden should constantly handle the pigskin and cruise around “The Town.”

Darren McFadden practiced Wednesday and may play when the Oakland Raiders visit Kansas City on Sunday.

Taken fourth overall out of Arkansas in 2008, the 26-year-old McFadden is still battling a hamstring injury.

The 6-foot-1, 218 pound McFadden has rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns over four games.

Able to complete the 40-yard dash in 4.33 seconds, DMC has also caught seven passes for 46 yards.

Oakland is 2-3 and fielding the league’s 23rd ranked offense.

Not exactly brimming with weapons, the Raiders need McFadden on the gridiron.

On an individual note, entering the final season of a six-year deal worth $60.1 million, McFadden must compete to prove he’s not a human chandelier.

Some onlookers may contend it makes sense to hold the former barroom brawler out until after Oakland’s Week 7 bye.

However, for the betterment of the Raiders and the brittle runner, McFadden should perform this weekend in “The Show Me State.”

Without an impressive autumn, Darren McFadden will lose millions of dollars in the springtime.
