During Tuesday’s interview with the Telegraph Sport, promoter Bob Arum claimed Manny Pacquiao will only lose to Timothy Bradley if he “fights a stupid fight.”
“Look, Bradley’s best chance to win the fight is to have Manny fight a stupid fight – like Manny ended up with fighting Juan Manuel Marquez,” said Arum, 82, referencing the December 2012 match when Marquez brutally knocked Pacquiao onto Queer Street.
“He walks in to punches and he gives no credence to his opponent. You can’t do that in boxing at this level – you get hit on the chin and no matter what kind of chin you have, if you’re not looking at the punch, it can hurt you.”
In their initial bout in June 2012, Bradley unwittingly stole Pacquiao’s crown when criminally incompetent judges handed him a split decision.
Pacquiao most recently exited the squared circle in November after universally outscoring Brandon Rios to capture the WBO international welterweight belt.
Displaying elite footwork and the uncanny ability to deliver punches from all angles, Pacquiao peppered the 27-year-old Rios (31-2-1, 23 KOs) with brilliant combinations that left “Bam Bam” bruised, cut and swollen.
“Desert Storm,” who outworked the 40-year-old Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KOs) in October, is quick, aggressive and fearless.
Unfortunately for Bradley, despite being an extremely formidable prizefighter, he possesses feathery fists and is incapable of hurting Pacquiao.
Plus, considering the revenge factor, Pacquiao will be supremely prepared for this sequel with Bradley.
With “no credence to his opponent,” expect Manny Pacquiao to decisively trump Timothy Bradley on the cards this weekend in “Sin City.”by
