Dismissing the pleas of Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer to conduct today’s final press conference in a professional manner, WBA welterweight titleholder Paulie Malignaggi and WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner again exchanged ugly insults.
Broner (26-0, 22 KOs) and Malignaggi (32-4, 7 KOs) will scrap on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
“I gotta put on a hell of a show. I’m not here to bash you Paulie. You’re a great Italian who wears his hats to the side,” said Broner, 23, ranked as the number one lightweight and sixth preeminent pound-for-pounder in the world. “I want you to keep your day job because after this you won’t be relevant in boxing without a microphone.”
A former IBF light welterweight king who has won five consecutive bouts at 147 pounds, Malignaggi responded to “The Problem.”
The cocky, flamboyant and simply unlikable Broner eagerly added 12 pounds to meet “The Magic Man.”
Still, regardless of any size advantage favoring the native Brooklynite, Broner will utterly overwhelm Malignaggi.
Putting “on a hell of a show,” expect Adrien Broner to knock Paulie Malignaggi onto Queer Street within eight lopsided rounds this weekend.by
