Aaron Berry is a worthless waste of a contract.

Untalented Detroit Lions cornerback Aaron Berry was arrested and charged with three counts of simple assault early Saturday morning in his hometown of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The 5-foot-9, 180 pound Berry, who the Lions inked as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Pittsburgh in 2010, was pinched in the same area on June 23 on suspicion of DUI, failure to stop and render aid from an accident and more.

Cpl. Kyle Gautsch of the Harrisburg Police Department said there “was a weapon allegedly brandished during the incident.”

The Lions, who have never made the Super Bowl and established the benchmark for futility in 2008 by becoming the only team to go winless in a 16-game schedule, released a statement about their midget defender earlier this morning.

“We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron Berry,” the team said. “We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate.”

Despite being a truly pathetic franchise, Detroit has finally compiled talent on both sides of the ball and they have a genuine opportunity to compete for a title this autumn.

Unfortunately, Lions like Berry, running back Mikel Leshoure and defensive tackle Nick Fairley seem intent on sabotaging any plans for triumph in “The D.”

Berry, a third-year nobody with zero potential, should immediately be forever jettisoned from Detroit by general manager Martin Mayhew and head coach Jim Schwartz.

The notoriously violent “Motor City” would benefit from the loss of some troublemaker named Aaron Berry.
