The Houston Texans need Andre Johnson to compete against the Seattle Seahawks

The Texans need Andre Johnson celebrating Sunday in Space City.

As of “right now,” the Houston Texans expect star wide receiver Andre Johnson to play versus the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Catching 25 passes for 258 yards over three games, the 32-year-old Johnson is still battling a shin wound.

After getting shellacked 30-9 by the Ravens in Baltimore, the Texans and quarterback Matt Schaub badly need a healthy version of Johnson.

Ranked 16th overall offensively, Schaub has been unsteady and made some poor decisions this season.

Considering Seattle will bring the league’s preeminent defense to Reliant Stadium, Johnson’s presence on the gridiron is more critical than ever.

A fast, powerful and physical force, the 6-foot-3, 230 pound Johnson is explosive in the open field.

Furthermore, the six-time Pro Bowler is a standout blocker who can help create holes for running back Arian Foster.

On a squad loaded with playmakers on both sides of the ball, Johnson likely remains the most dynamic Texan.

Sitting at 2-1 and competing against rugged Seattleites, the Texans “right now” must have Andre Johnson as an option in their attack.
