Relying on the standout power forward’s “unreal” fascination with pizza, the New Orleans Hornets and head coach Monty Williams want rookie Anthony Davis to gain “an extra 15 pounds of muscle” in the summer.
The 6-foot-10, 220 pound Davis, who New Orleans (26-49) took first overall out of the University of Kentucky in the 2012 NBA Draft, has averaged 13.2 points, 8.10 rebounds and 1.7 blocks over 60 games.
Davis, who unanimously swept the bulk of personal awards as a Wildcat and led the university to their eighth NCAA crown last spring, has missed 15 contests due to various injuries this season.
Hence, some added muscle would benefit the preseason choice for Rookie of the Year.
As a 20-year-old routinely approaching double-doubles, Davis’ metabolism will slow naturally with age.
Regardless, quickly adding “an extra 15 pounds of muscle,” the unibrow will utterly dominate the paint in The Big Easy within two years.by
