The Washington Redskins are ‘astonished’ by quarterback Robert Griffin III

Robert Griffin III will be celebrating plenty in September against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Astonished” at the superstar’s rate of recovery, Washington Redskins insider Chris Russell reports Robert Griffin III “smashes” every rehab test.

Named the Associated Press’ Offensive Rookie of the Year, the 23-year-old Griffin is healing from January’s reconstructive surgery to repair the ACL and LCL ligaments in his right knee.

A 6-foot-2, 217 pound athletic phenomenon, Griffin suffered the same injury playing as a Baylor University Bear four years ago.

Despite the severity of the wound, RG3 has mended in record fashion and will be ready for the first day of training camp on July 25.

Griffin completed an impressive 65.6 percent of his throws for 20 touchdowns, against five interceptions, and 3,200 yards in 15 games.

Running the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds at the NFL Combine in February 2012, Griffin also rushed for 815 yards and seven scores last autumn.

Fortunately, although a tremendous scrambler, Kim Kardashian’s wet dream proved capable of flourishing strictly as a pocket passer by posting a 102.4 quarterback rating.

Anything but a “cornball brother,” Griffin is destined to eventually guide the Redskins to their first championship since the 1991 campaign.

In the interim, fans will be “astonished” watching Robert Griffin III dominate the Philadelphia Eagles on September 9 at FedExField in Landover.
