There’s ‘no question’ Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon seems better

Justin Blackmon may have caught a handle on life.

Despite missing Friday’s practice, Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon said there’s “no question” he will play Sunday when Jacksonville hosts the San Diego Chargers.

The 23-year-old Blackmon has been bothered by a nagging hamstring injury.

Suspended four games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy in April, Blackmon’s already caught 19 balls for 326 yards and one touchdown this autumn.

Onlookers claim the 6-foot-1, 210 pound Blackmon has matured and is now mentally, physically and emotionally stronger.

Sitting in the basement of the AFC South at 0-6 and fielding the sport’s most anemic attack, the talented Jaguar is becoming a great story.

In addition to battling booze, Blackmon had groin surgery in July and needed to be escorted off the sideline for trying to incite a brawl during an August exhibition contest.

A longstanding troublemaker, Blackmon was charged with aggravated driving under the influence two months after being taken fifth overall out of Oklahoma State in April 2012.

The native Oklahoman was previously pinched in 2010 on a misdemeanor DUI complaint in Dallas, Texas.

Regardless of Blackmon’s athletic abilities and feel for the position, the kid seemed destined to drown in “The River City” without clinical help.

Encouragingly, there’s “no question” that Justin Blackmon appears to be improving both on the gridiron and in the streets.
