The 6-foot-7, 247 pound Klitschko (45-2, 41 KOs) and other opposition leaders are seeking to force the resignations of President Viktor Yanukovych and his cabinet members.
Klitschko, who oversaw the toppling of Vladimir Lenin’s statue earlier this morning, demanded the immediate release of all detained demonstrators and political prisoners.
“I am convinced that after these events, dictatorship will never survive in our country,” said Klitschko, 42, who recently announced his candidacy for the 2015 Ukrainian presidential election. “People will not tolerate when they are beaten, when their mouths are shut, when their principles and values are ignored.”
A natural commander who has the strong backing of Ukrainians, Klitschko led the UDAR (Punch) party to a surprising third place finish last autumn.
In addition to being a talented politician, “Dr. IronFist” is one of the premier prizefighters ever.
Unfortunately, Klitschko hasn’t fought since September 2012 and is basically holding the WBC hostage.
Yanukovych and his flunkies will ultimately get floored and Klitschko has a tremendous opportunity to become the face of Ukraine.
Regardless, after roughly 15 months of inactivity in the squared circle, the WBC must get “their principles” aligned and strip Vitali Klitschko of his belt.by
