The Astara Chile Classic is one of the most prestigious golf events of the year, attracting top players from around the world to compete for a share of the purse. After a seven-year-long absence from the tour’s annual calendar, the Santiago-based golf competition has finally returned, much to the delight of the Korn Ferry Tour community.
Astara Chile Classic 2023 Purse:
The Astara Chile Classic is one of the most highly anticipated golf events of the year, drawing in top players from around the world to compete for a share of the purse. In 2023, the purse for the Astara Chile Classic is expected to be even more impressive than in years past.
Chile Classic is a popular Chile-based professional golf tournament. The event was initiated in 2012 as an annual event under the Korn Ferry Tour calendar. The event’s returning edition is titled “Astara Chile Classic 2023” for a new sponsorship deal with Astara, the open mobility company.
Returning edition of the Astara Chile Classic is featuring a Korn Ferry Tour standard $1 million prize pool with the winner set to take home a generous share of $180,000. The top-65 participants from the 144-player field to make a 36-hole cut during the initial two rounds will qualify both for the final two rounds and a share of the purse.
The runner-up of the competition will receive a $90,000 reward, while the 3rd position holder receives $60,000. As stated previously, the purse pool will be shared among only the top-65 in the final standings. According to this, the 63rd, 64th, and 65th players in standings will receive $4,040, $4,020, and $4,000 as the event concludes.
In addition to prize money, the event will reward additional points to the players. The winner of ongoing Astara Chile Classic 2023 will be rewarded 12 OWGR ranking points and 500 Korn Ferry Tour points. This will be counted towards the entire season, as the top 30 of this season’s Korn Ferry Tour standings are set to receive a PGA Tour card for the following season.
Astara Chile Classic 2023 Payouts:
The payouts for the Astara Chile Classic 2023 have been announced. However, as with other professional golf tournaments, the payouts will likely be distributed based on the players’ final rankings and the size of the purse.
